Having been brought up in Barcelona, a city of high design and artistic splendor, Marta Cabané’s eye has always been drawn towards that which is intrinsically beautiful. Her inspiration for photography came from her father who was a fervent, amateur filmmaker and photographer during the 70’s – his passion for his craft was the impetus behind Marta becoming a Photographer.
Marta Cabané (Barcelona, 1961). Graduated in Interior Design from Philadelphia University (2010) and The PanAmericana Institute of São Paulo (2014). The symbiosis of art and design has always been a fundamental part of the development of Marta's creative practice.
In Brazil (2012) a new impetus for conceptual photography began in a professional framework. She attended workshops at the Tomie Ohtake Institute and the PanAmericana Institute of São Paulo.
In Miami (2017) Marta had multiple exhibitions, including the first prize in the Street Photography Festival with the series “The Grove,” during Art Basel (Miami History Museum, 2019).
In Arles, she won the Openwalls Award from the British Journal of Photography with the photograph “Silent” (2021).
She currently resides and develops projects in Mérida, Yucatán.
